Unknown Donated to Ukraine an NFT of CryptoPunks’ Collection Worth Over $200,000 

An unknown collector donated an NFT from the CryptoPunks collection, worth over $200,000, to Ukraine’s cryptocurrency fund.

Oleksandr Bornyakov, Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine for IT Development, valued the token at 56 ETH (~$148,000), possibly based on the price listed on the Larva Labs website.

Bornyakov also added that the Ministry of Digital Development of Ukraine has added an official Monero (XMR) wallet to collect donations for supporting the country.

The NFT transaction was completed on March 1st. According to Etherscan, the unknown collector who donated said NFT owns several more CryptoPunk tokens.

In addition, during the war, the crypto community donated over $82 million to help Ukraine. The head of the Ministry of Digital Development, Mikhail Fedorov, confirmed that at least $50 million was credited to Ukraine’s official crypto wallets.

According to SlowMist, Come Back Alive foundation has received more than $15 million in Bitcoin, Ethereum, and USDT to its addresses. And the total amount of donations to the addresses of Ukrainian crypto funds, including Unchain.Fund, Ukraine.DAO and AidForUkraine, is about $64.12 million.

Earlier, the CEO of the fintech startup Revolut, Nikolai Storonsky, said that the company will donate £1.5 million to Ukraine in the near future.
