TikTok Partners With Blockchain-Powered Platform Audius

The social network TikTok has signed a partnership with Audius, a music sharing and streaming protocol powered by blockchain technology.

Audius has announced that it is partnering with TikTok to create a new feature called TikTok Sounds.

According to Audius co-founder Forrest Browning, the integration will allow users to export songs created using this protocol to TikTok with a single click.

This collaboration came as a surprise, as TikTok recently announced the end of support for cryptocurrencies and the ban of any advertising on this topic.

And the Audius music exchange protocol uses blockchain technology to reward content creators as well as to increase the transparency of payments to artists. But according to Browning, roughly 95% of Audius users don’t even know the blockchain is involved.

TikTok currently does not allow users to receive music streaming royalties. Instead, the app offers opportunities for exposure and interaction with fans.
