The Government Named the Conditions For Not Banning the Mining in Russia
Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Industry and Trade Vladimir Gutenev said that the mining industry can continue to work on the territory of the Russian Federation if it operates under strict state control.
According to Prime, Gutenev added that mining farms must pay all taxes and use competitive advantages either in energy-abundant regions or in regions where climatic conditions allow increasing their efficiency due to low temperatures and cooling.
The head of the State Duma Energy Committee, Pavel Zavalny, if the mining industry is preserved, called for obliging miners to pay for electricity at industrial tariffs, TASS writes.
Earlier, the Central Bank of the Russian Federation published a report in which it called for a ban on cryptocurrencies and transactions with them, as well as a ban on the mining of digital assets.
Among the reasons for such an initiative, the regulator named an extreme overloading of the power grid, harm to the environment and the formation of demand for cryptocurrency infrastructure.
