The Central Bank of Russia Is Against Cryptocurrencies

The Russian Central Bank will stimulate the amendments to the legislation of the Russian Federation in order to regulate the place of cryptocurrencies in the financial field of the country.

According to TASS, Deputy Chairman of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation Vladimir Chistyukhin told reporters in the State Duma that the Central Bank intends to resolve the issue of cryptocurrencies by amending the legislation of the Russian Federation.

According to him, the Central Bank of the Russian Federation considers it possible to own, store and purchase cryptocurrencies for individuals and business representatives. However, they cannot do this using the country’s domestic infrastructure.

Chistyukhin added that in the near future, the Central Bank will provide a report on the place of cryptocurrencies in the Russian financial market. However, he hinted that the Central Bank does not see a place for cryptocurrencies on the Russian financial market at all.
