The Award of the Eurovision-2022 Was Sold at the Auction to Ukrainian Crypto-Exchange

The Ukrainian group Kalush Orchestra, who won the Eurovision Song Contest in 2022, sold its award — a crystal microphone — for $900,000 at a charity auction.

The auction of the main prize of Eurovision 2022 started on May 25, and its results were announced during a live broadcast.

The auction was won by the WhiteBIT crypto exchange. It made the highest crypto bid during the auction. In addition, during the charity event, more than 11 million hryvnias were collected on the Monobank’s card. Among the people who donated at least 200 UAH to a bank card, the organizers raffled off the panama hat of the Kalush Orchestra soloist, in which he performed at Eurovision 2022.

All funds raised will be directed to the PD-2 unmanned aerial vehicle complex for the Ukrainian army.

Earlier, the Kalush Orchestra joined the NFT project, created by the Binance exchange and the organizers of the Atlas music festival, to raise money to help families from Mariupol, Kyiv, Bucha, Gostomel, Irpin, Kherson, Volnovakha, Kharkiv, Chernigov, Nikolaev, Okhtyrka and Izyum.

On February 24, Russia carried out a paramilitary invasion of Ukraine on several fronts, shelling Kharkiv, Kyiv, Sumy, Chernihiv, Vinnytsia and other cities of various calibres.

The Ukrainian army is holding back the invasion of the enemy. From the hottest spots, the civilian population is trying to evacuate to other cities or even countries.

The world community organized to help the refugees and the Ukrainian army and imposed strict sanctions against Russia.

The BTC-Alpha team together with trusted volunteer communities created a charity fund ‘Alpha for Ukraine’. You can make a donation to help everyone in Ukraine who needs medicines, humanitarian aid and to support the defence of the country.
