Singapore’s Investors Choose Ethereum Over Bitcoin
In Singapore, most digital asset investors prefer to invest in Ethereum over Bitcoin.
According to a survey by Gemini cryptocurrency exchange, Seedly financial platform and information provider CoinMarketCap, almost 78% of people invest in Ethereum and only 69% in Bitcoins. In third place by popularity among Singaporean investors was Cardano – 40%.
The survey was conducted from June 29 to July 9 among more than 4,000 people. 67% of those surveyed have cryptocurrency in their investment portfolio. Two-thirds of those people added cryptocurrencies to their portfolio during the pandemic.
Many of those surveyed also noted a lack of knowledge in the field of cryptocurrencies, although they have invested in digital assets. However, only 34% of respondents who have no crypto said they plan to start investing in digital currencies in the next 12 months.
An interesting fact is that most of the respondents stated a strong interest in decentralized finance and NFTs.
In terms of gender in the world of digital currencies, among respondents in Singapore, 80% of cryptocurrency investors are male under 34. And female investors who invest in digital assets have a higher average income than their male counterparts.
Among all cryptocurrency holders, more than 5% of their investment portfolio is in digital assets. And only a fifth of investors aged 18 to 24 keep more than half of their investments in cryptocurrencies.
