Ripple Got the Access to the SEC’s Internal Documents
In December 2020, the U.S.SEC sued Ripple for not complying with the securities law. The trial got much attention from the crypto-related media. Finally, two sides seemed to achieve agreement, and Ripple applied for access to the SEC’s internal documents about the virtual assets.
This information was requested by Ripple to figure out the SEC’s opinions about the digital assets to make it more clear what official status XRP should have. They hope to find the similarities between the information on BTC, ETH and XRP to prove that XRP isn’t a security.
If they managed to prove it based on the SEC’s materials, the trial may stop due to XRP being off the limits of the Commission’s power. This is a very important research for the entire crypto industry, because other companies may use this information to defend themselves.
