New York Times Column Was Sold as NFT

New York Times tokenized one of its articles and sold it as NFT from the auction on the Foundation platform. It was sold for 350 ETH or $560,000 according to the latest rate. This money will be transferred to a charity fund founded by the New York Times.

The journalist Kevin Roose wrote an article about NFTs and thought it would be a good idea to make it available as an NFT. He doesn’t see any problems with journalists joining the NFT space with their works if people are interested in purchasing such pieces.

The first experiment came out successfully. New York Times isn’t the only publicist who entered the NFT ecosystem. Earlier, TIME magazine sold a series of covers on the NFT marketplace.
