Iranian Authorities Implement Temporary Restrictions for Miners

Iranian authorities warned local authorized miners about a temporary power outage.

According to Tehran Times, there are 118 mining companies in the country. From next month in the Iranian calendar, which starts on June 22, all registered crypto mining companies must go offline.

Mostafa Rajabi Mashhadi, the spokesman for the Iranian Ministry of Energy, said the restrictions were introduced due to high electricity consumption. During the week from June 13 to 19, 62,500 MW were used. According to the forecasts of the authorities, the figure will reach 63,000 MW in the near future.

Earlier, the Iranian authorities toughened the punishment for illegal mining using subsidized electricity and repeated violations.
