Iran Is Going to Ban Crypto Payments

The Parliament of Iran prepared a bill where they propose banning the payments done in any cryptocurrencies except the national one, according to the Tasnim agency. The Central Bank is going to be the one to regulate the crypto industry in the country.

The bill proposes that the crypto miners should keep submitting to MIMT (Ministry of Industry, Mine, and Trade). MIMT will be the one to give them licenses; the registration is necessary from 2020.

In May, the Iranian government banned mining cryptocurrency till Sеptember due to the lack of electric energy. The banks and other registered financial institutions are allowed to operate only the cryptocurrencies that were mined in the country.
