FlexPool Stopped Servicing Russian Miners
One of the largest Ethereum mining pools, FlexPool, announced that it will stop serving Russian IP addresses due to the invasion of Ukraine.
“Usually we don’t get involved in politics, despite our personal views. However, this is more than politics. This is a war that could end the world,” the pool said in a statement.
The team apologized to Russian users who do not support the invasion of Ukraine. FlexPool considered that the only way to influence Russia is economic sanctions. FlexPool also called on other members of the crypto community to join these sanctions.
“It’s not about politics – it’s about preventing the end of the world and saving lives. Companies and individuals must put the planet ahead of profit in the modern age,” FlexPool said.
At the time of writing, FlexPool is the 4th largest Ethereum pool in daily blocks mined, according to BTC.com.
The BTC-Alpha team together with trusted volunteer communities created a charity fund ‘‘Alpha for Ukraine’. You can make a donation to help everyone in Ukraine who needs medicines, humanitarian aid and to support the defence of the country.
