Elon Musk Said That Tesla Will Not Resume Selling Cars for Bitcoins Yet

Speaking at “The ₿ Word,” Tesla CEO Elon Musk hinted that while the cryptocurrency industry is moving towards a greener future, Tesla will not accept Bitcoin payments yet.

Musk also noted that he will very carefully weigh the decision on this occasion.

“I want to confirm that the percentage of renewable energy used by the crypto industry is likely to be 50% or higher and that there is an upward trend in that percentage,” said the Tesla CEO.

He is still skeptical about a possible complete transition to clean energy in the cryptocurrency industry.

“Tesla’s mission is to accelerate the development of sustainable energy. We cannot be a company that does this and does not pay appropriate attention to the use of energy by Bitcoins.”

He added that if crypto businesses switch to clean energy, Tesla will get back to accepting Bitcoins.
