Crypto ATMs Are Losing Popularity
During May 2022, only 202 new cryptocurrency ATMs were installed in the world. According to Coin ATM Radar, prior to this, ATM installs were so low in 2019.
The slowdown in ATM installation began in January 2022. But in the first few days of June, positive dynamics appeared in just 6 days, 863 cryptocurrency ATMs were installed.
At the time of writing, there are approximately 37,836 cryptocurrency ATMs operating worldwide. Most of these ATMs are located in the US – 87.9% of the total number of ATMs in the world.
The dominant producer is Genesis Coin – approximately 41% of the world’s cryptocurrency ATMs. It is followed by General Bytes (21.6%), BitAccess (16%) and Coinsource (5.4%).
The top 10 leading operators operate more than half of the operating bitcoin ATMs (70%). Among the leaders are Bitcoin Depot, CoinCloud and CoinFlip – the shares of the total exceed 9%.
