Coinbase NFT Early Access Waitlist Site Collapsed

Coinbase, after announcing its intention to create its NFT platform, created a site to sign up for early access to the new platform. The insane influx of traffic from users who wanted to get early access has temporarily crashed the registration site.

Coinbase announced the opening of the waiting list in a blog post, clarifying that the launch of the NFT platform is not scheduled for the end of 2021.

The platform, called Coinbase NFT, will support the Ethereum-based ERC-721 and ERC-1155 token standards, with support for other blockchains planned in the future.

Coinbase VP of Products Sanchan Saxena said the insane amount of traffic from the waitlist temporarily disrupted the site. At the time of writing, over 1.1 million people have signed up to the Coinbase newsletter in anticipation of early access to the NFT platform.

According to the announcement, the Coinbase NFT platform will first be available to customers in the United States over the age of 18, and in the future, it will enter the international market.
