Christie’s auction to sell the first version of Wikipedia in NFT
A unique NFT lot appeared at Christie’s auction – the first version of the Wikipedia Internet encyclopedia, which was put up for sale by the co-founder of the project, Jimmy Wales.
The auction, which will take place on December 15, will also show the iMac, from which Wales first launched the encyclopedia.
All funds raised during the auction will later be directed to charity and the development of the social network WT.Social.
At the time of writing, the online encyclopedia token was offered for $2,400, and the iMac – for $600.
After the sale, the Wikipedia home page will be posted on the Internet. Five minutes after editing, it will revert to its initial state. The owner will be able to close access to the page or prohibit editing it.
