Brazilian Bank BTG Pactual Launches Crypto-Asset Trading App
Leading Brazilian investment bank BTG Pactual has launched a new platform, Mynt, allowing clients to make direct investments in various cryptocurrencies.
At the moment, the platform allows users to buy Bitcoins and Ethereum, and in the future it is planned to start supporting many other crypto assets.
André Portilo, head of digital assets at BTG Pactual, said that in the future, Mynt will become a full-fledged platform with various blockchain-based assets.
BTG Pactual CEO Roberto Salluti added that in addition, Mynt plans to host the educational content designed to inform new users about cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology.
According to local news outlet The Rio Times, the launch of Mynt makes BTC Pactual the first major Brazilian financial institution to allow its clients to interact directly with the crypto asset market.
Portilo argued that the bank’s status as regulated by both the Brazilian Securities Commission and the local central bank would boost confidence in the country’s burgeoning crypto sector.
