Bitcoin Mining Gets Noticeably Greener As Estimated By New York Digital Investment Group

New York Digital Investment Group (NYDIG) carried out a research that was to determine the changes in carbon emission of Bitcoin in the future. They predicted different scenarios for Bitcoin that depended on its estimated price in a decade.

In the worst case supposed by the researchers, Bitcoin would spike up to $10 trillion. And even then it would make only 0.9% of the global carbon emission. They also suppose that Bitcoin mining will become greener overtime as the new technologies for making it this way will be discovered.

At the moment, Bitcoin uses 0.45% of the global electricity, this makes 101 TWt a year. The experts are sure that the consumption of energy is likely to decline over time due to the attempts of many countries to decarbonize their entire electricity consumption and not only Bitcoin mining.
