Binance Donates $2.5M to UNICEF to Help Ukrainian Children

The charitable foundation of the largest cryptocurrency exchange, Binance Charity, has donated $2.5 million in cryptocurrencies to support UNICEF’s work to save the lives of children in Ukraine.

A press release from the charity says that more than 7.5 million Ukrainian children are at risk due to Russia’s war against Ukraine.

“The speed with which this conflict is escalating has shocked the world. Just think, just over a week ago, Ukrainian children were laughing, playing, attending school, and now we hear about the victims among them. Thousands of people are forced to flee in search of shelter,” said Changpeng Zhao, founder and CEO of Binance.

In the current environment for children and their families, UNICEF is engaged in the provision of drinking water, hygiene items, medicines and medical services in the war zone, as well as protection, interaction with municipal authorities to organize assistance and support for psychosocial support specialists.

Earlier, the well-known exchange Binance announced that it would allocate $10 million to resolve the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine. In addition, Binance Charity has launched a fundraiser that will be used to help Ukrainian refugees and children.
