Belarus Introduces Register of Bitcoin Wallets

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko signed a bill introducing monitoring of cryptocurrency wallets in the country.

According to the document, free circulation of digital currencies is still allowed in Belarus. However, the authorities will monitor the situation and will be able to change the regulatory norms if necessary.

In addition, the document provides for the creation of a register of cryptocurrency wallets used in illegal activities, which will be formed by the High Technology Park (HTP).

In the next three months from the date of signing (February 14), the Council of Ministers must take measures to implement the decree. After that, the presidential decree will come into force as a new law.

Recently, the head of the Central Bank of Hungary decided to follow the example of Russia and proposed to ban digital assets in the country.
