Argentine Customs Confiscated More Than 2,200 Miners

Argentine customs officers confiscated a shipment of 2,233 Whatsminers.

According to Ambito, the reason for the confiscation was the discrepancy between the prices of the devices. The customs office added that in the documentation for the equipment, the indicated cost averaged $10,000 per unit. However, their average cost does not exceed $7,700.

The total cost of the equipment is $21.9 million. The difference between the quoted cost and the actual cost is about $5 million. For more accurate calculations, an additional examination will be carried out.

In Argentina, because of cheap electricity tariffs, the activity of Bitcoin miners is flourishing.
