Animoca Brands Lympo NFT Platform Lost $18.7 million

As a result of the hacker attack, the NFT sports mining platform Lympo, a subsidiary of Animoca Brands, lost 165.2 million LMT tokens worth about $18.7 million from the hot wallet (at the time of the hack).

The Lympo team announced on January 10, hackers gained access to the platform’s working hot wallet and withdrew about 165.2 million LMT from it. In addition, 10 more different project wallets were compromised.

According to the Lympo team, the hackers sent the stolen tokens to one address, exchanged them for ETH on the Uniswap and Sushiswap exchanges, and then redirected them to another address.

Since the hack, the price of the LMT token has dropped 92% to $0.0093.

Later, the Lympo team added that the platform will soon resume its normal operation, but LMT tokens have been temporarily removed from liquidity pools in order to minimize the decline in their price.
