300 Contraband GPUs Were Withdrawn in Hong Kong

An anti-smuggling operation conducted by Hong Kong Customs resulted in withdrawing 300 graphic process units on Friday. The operation took place in the waters of International Airport. Several suspicious men were tracked by the officers.

These men moved cartons from the fishing boat to a speedboat. As the officers were out to get them, they jumped to a speedboat and headed in China mainland directions. The GPUs they left were supposedly a contraband directed there. There was also some alcohol and cosmetics in those cartons.

The growth of Bitcoin and Ethereum may lead to lack of the equipment, and the supply of microchips is already limited, this is why some Chinese miners are ready to buy contraband GPUs. Nevertheless, the case will be investigated and smugglers will face the legal action as soon as it is solved.
